A Call to Action: Racial Stereotypes and Abuse of Power Still Costing Black men and women the ultimate price: No More Business as Usual
Addressing:
Miami-Dade: Latino mother kills son and tells police two Black men were the cause.
New York City: White woman calls police and purposefully lies about being attacked by an African American man
Recent Police and vigilante killings in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, and Minneapolis
Solutions to Effective Police /Community Relations in Black America.
The Circle of Brotherhood will be joined by leading police officials, several community organizations along with local and national advocates for justice; related to police and community relations. The call is for solidarity in addressing the local incident while joining national efforts that echo the sentiments: “Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere!” (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.), “Evil Prevails When Good Men Do Nothing!” (Edwin Burke).
Designated representatives from the police, community organizations and justice advocates will speak at the press conference. Our goal is to take a collective moral stand against injustice, represent solutions in community police relations and spark a national support system for the families of these murdered men/woman and add our voices of dissent to help increase and support the calls for justice in each case.
